Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Software Asset Management (SAM) maturity and governance by assessing client policies, processes, and roles against industry best practices.
  • Analyze software license entitlements and usage to identify underutilization, over-licensing, and potential cost savings.
  • Advise on software compliance risks by interpreting vendor agreements and ensuring alignment with licensing terms.
  • Support audit readiness and vendor negotiations by preparing clients with structured software asset data and risk assessments.
  • Identify opportunities for contract optimization by reviewing existing software agreements and renewals.
  • Develop SAM strategies and roadmaps that align with client's business goals, IT landscapes, and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with IT, procurement, and finance teams to ensure a cohesive approach to software asset decision-making.
  • Assess and enhance IT asset management processes by advising on SAM, Hardware Asset Management (HAM), and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) best practices.
  • Recommend SAM tooling improvements by evaluating clients’ existing solutions and advising on more effective tools where needed.
  • Deliver insights through clear reports and presentations that help clients make informed licensing and cost management decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in SAM, IT asset management, or software licensing.
  • Familiarity with major licensing models (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, etc.) and SAM tools (Flexera, ServiceNow, Microsoft SCCM, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills to assess software usage, licensing terms, and compliance risks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English, with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation tools.
  • A strong desire to continuously learn and enhance capabilities, with a focus on building collaborative team environments.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and achieve objectives.
  • Certifications like ITIL, CSAM, or Microsoft SAM are a plus but not required.
