This position is responsible for leading and implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) projects, such as Lean and Lean Six Sigma initiatives, to enhance departmental performance in alignment with the organization's key initiatives. The role involves being a part of a highly skilled team of change agents, working across various assigned departments and, when applicable, engaging with external customers and suppliers. The individual will develop, execute, and sustain effective process improvements that drive KPI enhancements utilizing the company Operating System (VOS) methodologies.

Under the direction of the VOS Manager, the individual contributor will:

  • Serve as a change agent by driving the required cultural transformation and the adoption of successful process improvement practices, diagnosing barriers to project success, and facilitating resolution.
  • Lead assigned departments’ business improvement projects, encompassing data analysis, preparation & planning, change management, and training in CI methodologies like LEAN.
  • Share responsibility for process improvement with the assigned departments’ manager.

Responsibilities

  • Directly impact assigned department’s core processes.
  • Frequently interact with peer groups, typically involving information/best practice exchange, basic problem resolution, and identification of process improvement opportunities.
  • Lead change initiatives and drive process excellence.
  • Oversee facility VOS communications, education, and training.
  • Implement site analysis, including baseline assessment of assigned departments’ business processes, financial analysis, and continuous measurement & improvement efforts.
  • Partner with the department manager to develop and deploy the VOS strategy.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of 3 plus years’ experience
  • Six Sigma / Lean certifications preferred

  • Proven track record of operational execution
  • Prior experience in leading diverse teams to achieve a common goal
  • Prior experience using word processing, spreadsheet, statistical analysis, and presentation software
  • Ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to work within a matrix management environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Capacity to understand customer/client issues and creatively apply solutions to real-world challenges with world-class results
  • Skill in organizing and scheduling people and tasks; uses goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans; manages multiple projects
  • Execution-oriented with a strong sense of urgency around achieving tangible results
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority
  • Strong written and oral communication/presentation skills
