About the Role
As a Control Field Specialist, you will be a key player in the Engineering Transformation team, focused on improving engineering processes within the Industrial and Energy Technology (IET) sector. You will represent the company technically and professionally, ensuring the successful installation, maintenance, and start-up of advanced equipment. Your work will take you across various industries, providing critical support in oilfield operations, power generation, and industrial facilities.

Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing on-site technical direction on control systems installation, including loop checks, system tests during start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance on customer-owned sites.
  • Supervising the positioning and wiring of control panels, particularly focusing on electrical, pneumatic, primary hookups, and field wiring performed by clients or subcontractors.
  • Checking the functionality of control sequencing for auxiliary systems relevant to turbine and driven equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, lube oil systems, hydraulic systems, ventilation systems, and fire & gas detection systems.
  • Leading installation, maintenance, and commissioning site activities while adhering strictly to customer/company schedule targets and quality and HSE rules.
  • Establishing and reporting critical activity tasks after daily HSE toolbox talks, highlighting necessary safety procedures.
  • Utilizing problem-solving skills, engineering instructions, and process instructions during turbomachinery commissioning, start-up, and maintenance activities.
  • Preparing job-planning documents based on assignment scope for installation, upgrades, and outages.
  • Providing leadership and technical direction to skilled labor on-site, ensuring that executed work meets safety and technical requirements.
  • Communicating effectively with Service/Installation/Project Managers and the Site Manager regarding job planning, execution, and personnel logistics.
  • Preparing timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and future field service interventions.
  • Actively participating in customer and contractor meetings and ensuring adherence to quality procedures and documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with local legislation and the safety manual relevant to the site.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Engineering degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant field experience in the Oil & Gas or Energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including hands-on expertise with HDGT (Frame 5/2, 6B) and BH/NP Centrifugal compressors.
  • High expertise in Mark Vie and Mark Vi control panels as well as instrumentation activities and PLC control panels.
  • Experience in DLN (Dry Low NOx) systems mapping.
  • The ability to work onshore, offshore, and in remote areas without restrictions.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, for effective customer interaction and technical communication.
  • Strong customer service orientation and the capability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently without direct supervision, along with strong analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (not less than 70%) with no geographical restrictions, including offshore.
