Control Room Operator

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to ensure that all allocated facilities equipped with CCTV and FLIR systems are connected to the Control Room (CCR) and functioning efficiently at least 90-95% of the time. This role operates under general supervision and holds general authority over daily functional operations, focusing on asset protection activities.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure effective communication and accessibility to all sites connected to the Control Room.
• Ensure the operational status of the CCTV System connected to the Control Room.
• Identify and report all fire alarms and motion detection alerts raised by the CCTV system at the allocated facilities.

• 92% operational efficiency.

Major Activities

1. Operate the CCTV and FLIR systems according to the provided guidelines and manual.
2. Identify and report all fire alarms and motion detection incidents raised by the deployed CCTV system.
3. Handle emergencies following the Company’s Emergency Policy and Procedures.
4. Maintain effective communication with all sites connected to the Control Room.
5. Monitor security associates’ attendance and ensure all sites are manned. Record any incidents in the logbook.
6. Notify the security in charge immediately if any security guard is not relieved or if any post is unoccupied.
7. Inform the concerned manager of any incidents at the premises for which responsibility is held.
8. Document all activities with details for comprehensive incident reporting.
9. Verify all gates are securely locked and keys are maintained safely.
10. Monitor CCTV/FLIR systems and report abnormalities to the senior supervisor.
11. Conduct health checks on each shift to ensure system operational status and report faults to CCR promptly.
12. Ensure timely deployment of security dogs and record any inconsistencies at applicable sites.
13. Monitor contractors and visitors through CCTV and report any inconsistencies.
14. Handover the shift to the incoming operator, formally recording any incidents and relevant activities during the shift.
15. Maintain control room equipment, including CCTV and NVRs, reporting any faults promptly.
16. Manage access to the Control Room and ensure guests and visitors apply for permits prior to their visit.

Job Context
This position requires advanced knowledge in operating and monitoring CCTV/FLIR systems, directly impacting security management and punctuality of security associates across all sites.

Framework, Boundaries & Decision Making Authority
The incumbent has the authority to grant access to the CCTV system for department heads as instructed by line managers.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Experience

• 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role.
