Control Room Operator

About the Role
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that allocated facilities fitted with CCTV and FLIR systems are connected to the Control Room (CCR) and operating at an efficiency of at least 90% to 95%. Working under general supervision, the job entails maintaining effective communication with all sites linked to the control room, monitoring alarms triggered by the CCTV systems, and ensuring a secure environment at all assigned locations.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure effective communication and accessibility to all sites connected to the Control Room.
• Ensure that CCTV and FLIR systems connected to the Control Room are fully operational.
• Identify, report, and address all fire alarms and motion detections raised by the CCTV systems deployed at facilities connected to the system.

Performance Indicators

• Maintain a minimum operational efficiency of 92%.

Major Activities

1. Operate the CCTV and FLIR systems according to the provided guidelines and manuals.
2. Identify and report fire alarms and motion detections from the CCTV systems at all connected locations.
3. Handle all emergencies following the Company’s Emergency Policy and Procedures.
4. Ensure effective communication across sites connected to the control room.
5. Monitor security associate attendance and punctuality to ensure all sites are staffed.
6. Inform the security supervisor if any security guard is not relieved or if any post is unoccupied.
7. Notify the concerned manager of any incidents occurring at the premises.
8. Document all activities in case of emergencies to create comprehensive reports.
9. Ensure all gates are locked and that keys are securely maintained.
10. Monitor the CCTV/FLIR system for abnormalities and report to the security senior supervisor.
11. Conduct health checks on each shift to ensure system operation and report faults to CCR.
12. Ensure timely deployment of security dogs and record inconsistencies at applicable sites.
13. Monitor contractors and visitors using the CCTV system and report any irregularities.
14. Handover shift to the incoming duty operator, formally recording all incidents and activities.
15. Maintain control room equipment, including CCTV and NVRs, and report any faults for prompt action.
16. Manage access permissions for the Control Room, ensuring guests and visitors apply for access permits prior to their visit.

The job demands advanced knowledge in operating and monitoring CCTV and FLIR systems per established guidelines and manuals. It directly impacts the management of security associate attendance and ensures that all sites are fully secured.

Framework, Boundaries & Decision Making Authority
The job holder has the authority to grant access to the CCTV system to heads of departments as directed by line managers.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Experience

• 1 to 3 years in a similar role or credential level.
