About the Role
A CSE Engineer, Product provides technical expertise on the optimal the company product for the customer. This role involves understanding how customer needs translate into product-specific requirements and is accountable for coordinating all engineering work until the project is handed over to maintenance. The CSE Engineer engages in non-standard solutions and tendering, focusing on the company products such as Elevators, Escalators, Autowalks, machine-room-less elevators, and high-rises.
The role also includes providing technical expertise support to the FL CSE, field operations, and sales teams, managing order processes, and implementing the company products and service solutions that meet the customer’s specifications effectively and in compliance with codes and standards. This role description applies to CSE Engineer, Project in KMTA CSE Functional Services.

Responsibilities and Key Tasks

  • Collaboration with Sales:

    • Responsible for finding the optimal the company product to meet the customer’s non-standard needs with Special Engineering requirements.
    • Selects the correct product platform for the offer and ensures competitiveness.
  • Product Planning – Costing:

    • Involves Supply Line, installation, maintenance, and project management to understand materials and service costs for products when necessary.
    • Responsible for accurate product costings in non-standard cases for both corporate and local materials.
  • Product Planning – Specs:

    • Accountable for detailed, custom product plans for non-standard cases, collaborating with the SL Engineering team as needed.
    • Creates product specifications for both corporate and local materials.
    • Performs initial and revised non-standard energy calculations and simple traffic analyses.
    • Accountable for the overall engineering of the project, including technical site surveys and the technical content of the order between MS 0b and MS 2z.
  • Product Planning – Availability and Lead Times:

    • Coordinates product lead times from Supply Line and local sourcing.
  • Product Planning – Installability:

    • Ensures that the proposed product can be installed.
    • Considers the cost and work effort impact of installation, especially in non-standard situations.
  • Product Planning – Maintainability:

    • Ensures the planned product fulfills the customer’s lifecycle needs.
    • Identifies possible deviations to standard maintenance methods and finds resolutions.
  • Product Planning – Compliance:

    • Ensures that the proposed product complies with local codes, regulations, safety requirements, and environmental regulations.
    • Ensures alignment with the company’s Engineering Policy.
  • Key Tasks in the the company Customer Process:

    • Provides content for pre-booking reviews (technical products, costs, lead times, risks, and verification of technical content in contracts).
    • Executes holistic product planning activities.
  • Key Tasks in the the company Delivery Process:

    • Accountable for creating layouts, analyzing change requirements, and proposing new product designs.
    • Provides necessary details to the CSE Specialist regarding ordering materials and completing documentation processes.
    • Shares product-related information with Project Managers, Installation Supervisors, and Maintenance Supervisors.
    • Shares knowledge with maintenance as needed.
  • General Responsibilities:

    • Participates in product and new service release information-sharing sessions.
    • Provides technical training to Sales, Installation, and Maintenance teams as per Front Line needs.
    • Offers input to product offering management about customization, standardization, and interface requirements for the portfolio.

Requirements for the Role

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum five years of experience in the Elevator Industry and proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills in English; Arabic is an asset.
  • Strong collaboration skills and capability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Analytical thinking skills and attention to detail, distinguishing important information from minor details.
  • Ability to work with global colleagues considering different time zones, language proficiencies, and cultural differences.
  • Excellent technical understanding of elevator, escalator, and Advanced People Flow solutions is considered a plus.
