What You Will Do As a Customer Engineer
The Customer Engineer (CE) is a trusted technical advisor and architect of the customer journey. Responsibilities include:
- Technical Validation: Partner with Account Executives to lead technical deep-dive discovery, capturing business requirements and mapping customer infrastructure to the company architectures. Deliver tailored technical presentations and address complex technical objections during the sales cycle.
- Customer Adoption & Value Realization: Serve as the primary contact for customers, designing structured onboarding blueprints tailored to their environment. Monitor customer health scores and telemetry to ensure rapid time-to-value.
- Commercial Accountability & Expansion: Carry a variable quota tied to new business acquisition and manage ongoing account growth. Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to translate platform capabilities into return on investment for C-level executives.
- Trusted Advisory: Maintain a deep relationship with key stakeholders, providing thought partnership on architecture and deployment confidence while identifying potential risks early.
- AI Orchestration & Workflow Automation: Use AI agents and internal platforms to automate routine tasks, allowing focus on strategic customer advisory.
- Education & Enablement: Collaborate with the Enablement Team to build technical resources and educate internal teams and customers on best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Fluency in English and Turkish (written and spoken).
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering).
- Ability to articulate and design complex enterprise network and security architectures.
- Excellent consultative skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
- Proven track record in quota-carrying environments.
- Exceptional presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Breadth in at least four of the following technical areas:
- Internet fundamentals: Understanding of OSI model, BGP, GRE, TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
- Security: Expertise in WAF, Bot Management, Firewalls, (M)TLS, Zero Trust, and SASE concepts.
- Performance: Understanding performance metrics such as speed, latency, caching, and HTTP/2.
- AI Proficiency: Familiarity with AI-assisted scripting and LLM utilization.
- Coding/Scripting: Proficiency in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar for integration scripts and API connectors.
- Developer Platform Fluency: Experience in building or scaling applications using APIs and observability tools.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications (The "Good-to-Haves")
- Technical Enablement: Experience creating and delivering workshops or documentation for customer adoption.
- Applied AI Knowledge: Familiarity with LLM orchestration and RAG architectures.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding regulatory requirements like PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
- Hyperscaler / Digital Native Background: Background in larger tech firms or startups is valued.
Education
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Travel
- Travel may be required up to 20–50% for customer meetings, conferences, and industry events.
