Customer Project Manager

About the Role / About the Job
To ensure total alignment with client operational needs, a dedicated Customer Project Manager (CPM) will be assigned to work closely with the client. This role provides continuous support, improved communication, and proactive project management directly at client sites and headquarters. When not deployed on field assignments, the primary location will be at the client office in Al Jubail, with expectations for regular, scheduled site visits to all client end-users and affiliate sites where the equipment fleet is installed.

The Customer Project Manager coordinates the administrative, contractual, technical, and commercial aspects of field service and repair projects from initial inquiry to final billing and collection. This role directly produces service income for the organization and manages multidisciplinary projects involving multiple departments and product lines, as well as non-product items. On major projects, the CPM provides onsite project management for the installation, commissioning, overhaul, and troubleshooting of equipment. This role requires deep engineering knowledge to direct projects from inception to commissioning while ensuring execution remains within budget.

Turnaround Project Management & Field Support
This role requires a wide range of independent action and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle:

• Sales Integration & Proposals: Support service sales operations when selling major field projects; assist the Sales team during proposal presentations and collect data for technical/commercial proposals.
• Costing, Pricing & Resource Mobilization: Compile cost data for project implementation and plan jobs by scheduling and mobilizing personnel and resources.
• Onsite Execution & Supervision: Lead EEE field activities at client sites and manage onsite projects; supervise and schedule subcontractor teams.
• Outage & Maintenance Planning: Support the client with turnaround and maintenance planning to ensure alignment with requirements.
• Project Controls & Financial Management: Manage projects within planned man-hours and budgets; track project changes and coordinate final invoicing.
• Invoicing, Closure & Access: Monitor project progress against contractual milestones, consolidate invoicing, and assist in collection of payments.

Equipment Condition, Lifecycle Support & Technical Diagnostics

• Surveys & Performance Monitoring: Conduct on-site surveys to share insights on equipment reliability.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Assist with troubleshooting and define preventative actions.
• Strategic Recommendations: Offer recommendations on maintenance and repairs to enhance efficiency and safety.

Quality, Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

• System & Safety Alignment: Conduct work aligning with company guidelines and preparing safety documentation.
• Quality Control & Nonconformity Prevention: Establish quality requirements and take action to prevent nonconformity.
• Risk & Liability Management: Advance planning to avoid delays and resolve field issues swiftly.

Business Development, Client Relations & Continuous Improvement

• Market Intelligence & Growth: Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders to identify sales opportunities and promote goodwill with clients.
• Reporting & Knowledge Sharing: Prepare service reports and lessons learned documentation; share industry best practices and conduct training sessions.
• Performance Reviews & Feedback Loops: Capture feedback from clients and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Data & System Management: Oversee project metrics management and maintain a comprehensive database of documentation related to fleet support.

Education, Domain Expertise & Aptitudes

• Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• Years of Experience: 5 to 10 years of proven experience in the industry.
• Technical Domain Expertise: Direct experience with rotating machinery and a strong knowledge of industry standards.
• Technical & Cognitive Aptitudes: Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in interpreting technical documentation.

• Commercial & Leadership Capabilities: Expertise in the commercial aspects of field jobs and strong supervisory skills to manage diverse teams.

Presentation & Software Proficiency

• Presentation Skills: Ability to analyze and present data clearly.

Base Location & Work Schedule
This is a full-time permanent position based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
