Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain a cybersecurity strategy that aligns with the organization's business strategy.
- Effectively communicate financial aspects of cybersecurity activities to senior management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop cybersecurity policies and associated documentation in alignment with the organization's strategy.
- Ensure cybersecurity requirements for IT align with the organization's strategy.
- Develop and customize cyber threat landscapes.
- Promote and demonstrate the value of cybersecurity to stakeholders within the organization.
- Review the effectiveness of the organization's cybersecurity controls against its strategic goals.
- Advocate for cybersecurity topics with senior management.
- Ensure cybersecurity strategies are addressed by relevant policies and documentation.
- Brief senior management on cybersecurity controls necessary to protect the organization.
- Align protection and detection capabilities with the organization's cybersecurity strategy.
- Periodically review cybersecurity strategy and policies for compliance.
- Obtain resources for effective process development to meet strategic cybersecurity goals.
- Align cybersecurity architecture design with organizational strategy.
- Identify alternative cybersecurity strategies to address organizational security objectives.
- Review effectiveness of cybersecurity controls against strategic goals.
- Advise on security requirements for the RFP process, project, and change management processes.
- Ensure systems and architectures are consistent with cybersecurity guidelines.
- Develop security architecture and systems security engineering requirements throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Consulting, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
- Flexibility to travel.
- Knowledge of the organization's IT strategy and objectives.
- Experience in identifying business-critical systems and applications.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management processes.
- Understanding of risk assessment, mitigation, and management methods.
- Familiarity with relevant cybersecurity and privacy principles and related legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of new technologies and solutions from a cybersecurity perspective.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information security, cybersecurity, or a relevant field.
- 7+ years of experience in a similar position.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, TOGAF Foundation, or SABSA SCF are preferred.
