Position

We are looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist with knowledge of Substation Automation Systems Testing & Commissioning for various projects. As a Cybersecurity OT Engineer, you will act as the responsible commissioning engineer overseeing the installation and commissioning of Substation Automation systems for assignments classified as medium commissioning complexity. Your role will involve managing the completion of all commissioning activities efficiently and cost-effectively in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Commissioning function at project meetings and design review meetings.
  • Contribute to the creation and management of the project commissioning philosophy.
  • Manage the implementation of commissioning design changes and the production of 'as-built' project documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement of project processes and system designs through lessons learned feedback.
  • Assist Project Managers in issuing claims related to new scopes of work, cost impacts, time impacts, and risk quantifications.
  • Create work plans for your area of responsibility and proactively manage to deliver agreed programs on time and quality.
  • Conduct risk and opportunity assessments during commissioning to ensure safe implementation and identify potential issues.
  • Report any contract, quality, program, or cost issues early to management, along with recommendations for resolution.
  • Act as the Hitachi Energy lead for commissioning activities on projects, ensuring professionalism in all customer interactions.
  • Coordinate site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance certification.
  • Manage external organizations that provide commissioning with equipment, systems, or services.
  • Develop and coach colleagues, fostering a network of Engineering colleagues both within and outside the business unit.
  • Prepare project documentation for Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and obtain necessary approvals for commissioning activities of SAS Systems.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with in-depth knowledge of Networking and Cybersecurity.
  • Relevant certifications such as Nozomi, Fortinet, IEC62443 (all 4 modules), and knowledge of Fortinet and CISCO Networking.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience as a Commissioning Engineer in Cybersecurity, with a preference for utility approval experience in UAE.
  • Experience managing large and medium complex projects.
  • Strong analytical and strategic approach with high customer orientation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Networking & Cybersecurity implementation, including malware protection and firewall configuration.
  • Familiarity with Substation automation systems and various communication protocols.
  • Working knowledge of GRS systems and associated protocols (IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850).

Language Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written Arabic and English is required.
