Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Strategy & Design:
- Define the enterprise data architecture roadmap across various data domains (operational, analytical, metadata, master, reference, unstructured).
- Design scalable, cloud-native data architecture aligned with business needs and digital transformation goals.
- Select appropriate data storage technologies (e.g., Delta Lake, Data Lakehouse, SQL/NoSQL stores) based on use case.

Data Platform Leadership:
- Lead the architecture for ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption across batch and real-time data pipelines.
- Define standards and frameworks for metadata, data lineage, data quality, and cataloging.
- Architect for interoperability across BI, AI/ML, and regulatory reporting workloads.

Governance & Security:
- Enforce data governance, privacy, and compliance standards in collaboration with the data governance team.
- Implement security policies including data masking, encryption, access control, and audit logging.
Preferred Technical Expertise:
- Deep hands-on expertise in Azure Data Services (Data Lake Gen2, Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks).
- Experience with modern data lakehouse architectures (Delta Lake, Iceberg).
- Familiarity with Big Data tools (Spark, Kafka, Hive).
- Strong knowledge of data modeling (3NF, dimensional, data vault).
- Understanding of data cataloging and governance tools (Azure Purview, Collibra).
- Proficiency in orchestration tools and schedulers (Airflow, Azure Data Factory pipelines).
- Knowledge of streaming pipelines using Kafka, Event Hub, or Databricks Structured Streaming is advantageous.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL, and data virtualization is a plus.
- Exposure to MLOps, feature stores, and AI data lifecycle is an advantage.

- Strategic mindset with the ability to abstract complex technical ideas for executive stakeholders.
- Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Ability to mentor engineering teams and influence architectural decisions in a federated data environment.
