The role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation response. As an Engineering Operations Engineer, you will operate and maintain AWS DCs’ world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure while overseeing facility operations and ensuring the implementation of safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture.
- Support electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS’s), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
- Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs and perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
Day in the Life
- Work rotational shifts of 4 days of 12 hours (2 days followed by 2 nights), and 4 days off, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking.
- Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance and drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
Requirements
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with experience in critical High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data center engineering.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC systems, and data collection/trending.
