Data Center Operations Engineer - UAE National

AWS has an exciting Data Center Operations Engineer opportunity available for a UAE national with a family book. The Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer is a hands-on role focused on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. You will operate and maintain AWS data centers' world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure, following a process-oriented approach and overseeing facility operations to ensure safety procedures are implemented.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow and maintain the highest safety standards while encouraging a world-class safety culture.
• Support electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS’s), switchgear, circuit breakers, automatic transfer switches (ATS's), diesel generators, chillers, and HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal service level agreements (SLAs) and perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.

Work Conditions

• Work rotational shifts of 4 days of 12-hour shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights), and 4 days off, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Respond to on-call rotation for off-duty emergency calls.
• Required to take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log-taking.
• Must be capable of moving objects/material (weight limits in accordance with regulations), working in outdoor weather conditions, in noisy environments, and at heights.

Requirements

• UAE National with a family book.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly HVAC systems, and key electrical competencies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading and managing operations of critical facilities, requiring in-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
