Data Center Operations Engineer - UAE National

AWS has an exciting opportunity for a Data Center Operations Engineer in Dubai available exclusively for a UAE national with a family book. The AWS Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring that customers have continuous access to the innovation they rely on. In this role, you will operate and maintain AWS data centers’ world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure while adopting a process-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow and maintain the highest safety standards to foster a world-class safety culture and collaborate with other teams to ensure remediation of safety risks and issues.
• Operate and manage mechanical and electrical equipment within the data center, including UPSs, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATSs, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC systems, and Transformers.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal service level agreements (SLAs) and perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.

Work Conditions

• Work a rotational shift schedule consisting of 4 days of 12-hour shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights) with 4 days off, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Participate in on-call rotation for off-duty emergency calls and take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).

Requirements

• Must be a UAE National with a family book.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC systems and controls.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in leading and managing operations of critical facilities, requiring extensive knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
