Data Center Operations Specialist

The Data Center Operations Specialist is responsible for managing various aspects of data center operations, including commissioning and setup, cooling and environmental management, and power management. This role requires a strong background in rack layout design, cabling standards, and hardware installation, along with knowledge of power distribution design and redundancy planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commissioning and setup of data center infrastructure, ensuring adherence to cabling standards and hardware installation protocols.
• Monitor and maintain cooling efficiency, temperature, and humidity levels using CRAC units and HVAC systems.
• Manage power load requirements and capacity planning, leveraging hands-on experience with UPS systems, PDUs, and generators.
• Utilize DCIM tools for real-time monitoring and generate health, utilization, and capacity reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with data center standards and best practices, focusing on physical security and access control systems.
• Administer both Windows Server and Linux systems, with a strong emphasis on virtualization and backup solutions.
• Implement automation processes using Ansible and manage OS and application patching for security across environments.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences / IT / Engineering or a Diploma in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years+ of experience in a similar environment
