Position

The Data Center Technician is responsible for effective delivery of hands-on technical support and installations. This position entails server hardware and network break-fix tasks, structured cabling installation, rack deployments, decommissioning activities, site planning, problem escalation, and performing installations in a cloud infrastructure data center. Key responsibilities include prioritizing ticketing queues, resolving incidents and escalations, and addressing blocking issues to facilitate continuous technician activities in accordance with internal policies and service level agreements. The role also requires providing 24x7 site coverage for data center sites.

About The Candidate: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. They should possess hands-on experience in IT infrastructure support, server and network maintenance, and structured cabling in a large-scale mission-critical environment, along with an adequate understanding of data center infrastructure and facility operations. A willingness to work on-call and the ability to reach the data center site within 60 minutes are crucial. Candidates must also be comfortable working in cramped spaces and elevated locations, have strong communication skills, and be experienced in providing client-facing support while working productively in remote cross-functional teams.

Required Experience: Candidates should have hands-on experience in server and network hardware installation, break-fix, and troubleshooting, alongside experience in structured cabling and troubleshooting methodologies. Knowledge of data center infrastructure and operations, including mechanical and electrical systems, is essential, as is familiarity with airflow management techniques. Experience with commissioning new whitespace, data center expansion projects, and build-out activities is desirable. Proficiency in Linux Operating System command line tools and a background in handling large inventory while implementing quality control are also required.

Work Conditions: This position involves on-call responsibilities and travel to data center sites as required. It requires working in a multi-disciplinary team and at customer locations.

Language Requirements: Candidates must be able to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing.
