Position

This role involves the effective delivery of hands-on technical support and installations within a cloud infrastructure (OCI) data center located in Qatar. Responsibilities include handling server hardware and network break-fix tasks, overseeing structured cabling installation, conducting rack deployments and decommissioning activities, site planning, problem escalation, and installation processes. The technician will prioritize ticketing queues, resolve incidents and escalations, and clear any blocking issues to facilitate ongoing technician activities in line with internal policies and service level agreements. Additionally, the role requires providing 24x7 on-site coverage for OCI data center locations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on experience in IT Infrastructure support, server and network maintenance, and structured cabling in a large-scale mission-critical environment
  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure and facility operations
  • Ability to respond to on-call requests and arrive at data center sites within 60 minutes
  • Capability to work in constrained spaces and elevated areas
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in a virtual environment
  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse customers and staff
  • Experience in providing direct client-facing customer support
  • Strongly service-oriented, reliable, responsible, and self-motivated

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Hardware support expert liaison to other technical and non-technical teams
  • Provide timely, hands-on technical solutions
  • Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of all production server and network hardware
  • Conduct system board-level repairs and fault diagnostics within service level agreements
  • Carry out structured cabling installations and the planning and commissioning of new whitespaces and rack positions
  • Manage rack receiving, installation, and decommissioning activities
  • Adhere to the company, site-specific, and customer-specific physical security policies
  • Ensure compliance with defined health and safety processes
  • Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team and stay updated with the latest technologies
