Position

As a Data Center Technician (DCT), you will stage, set up and perform hardware deployments. You will also perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on equipment, as well as handle hardware decommissions for simple changes and refreshes following Standard Operating Procedures. This opportunity will allow you to deepen your understanding of Data Center standard processes and procedures, develop mentoring skills while providing guidance to peers, and familiarize yourself with security and data management procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifying the cause(s) of issues and replacing faulty components with minimal customer and business disruption.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks, verifying that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols and deployment standards.
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, rebuilds) with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate data center operations management, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
  • Assist and provide guidance to other technicians on challenging tasks.
  • Complete required training aligned to the role and workload; observe more experienced technicians for hands-on experience.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing information, attending team meetings, and staying informed on others' work.
  • Demonstrate pride and accountability for service quality and user experience, owning the data center facilities.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with basic knowledge of computer hardware and components, coupled with experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Ability to work shifts, including non-standard business hours, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Background Check Requirements:

  • Must pass the Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience in supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Applicable certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
