Position

As a Data Center Technician (DCT), you will be responsible for staging, setting up, and performing hardware deployments. Your role will include troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues as well as decommissioning hardware for simple changes and refreshes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. This position offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of Data Center processes and procedures, develop mentoring skills by guiding peers, and familiarize yourself with security and data management protocols, thereby accelerating your career growth.

You will be part of the company’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, which powers key infrastructure for the company’s online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Azure. Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues while minimizing disruption to customers and business.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks to ensure safety protocols and deployment standards are followed.
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes under minimal guidance.
  • Communicate and escalate incidents effectively to the appropriate management units.
  • Assist and guide other technicians with complex tasks.
  • Complete required training and participate in hands-on learning experiences.
  • Maintain a positive team environment by collaborating and sharing information with team members.
  • Uphold accountability for service quality and user experience.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
  • Experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+) and Basic Structure Cabling (BSC) are advantageous.

Background Check Requirements:

  • Candidates must meet the company, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing a Cloud background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
