Position

As a Microsoft Data Center Technician (DCT), you will be responsible for staging, setting up, and performing hardware deployments. Your duties will include troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment, as well as performing hardware decommissions for simple changes and refreshes in line with Standard Operating Procedures.

This role provides a valuable opportunity to enhance your understanding of Data Center processes, develop mentoring skills by guiding peers, and familiarize yourself with security and data management procedures. You will play a key role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies supporting Microsoft's online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting according to standard procedures with minimal disruption.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks to ensure compliance with safety protocols and deployment standards.
  • Decommission hardware following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate and report incidents to appropriate management units and engineering specialists.
  • Assist and mentor other technicians on complex tasks.
  • Complete required training for ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment through collaboration and information sharing.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
  • Experience in supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of experience in supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+) and Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).

Language Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English is preferred; additional languages may be beneficial.
