Data Center Technician, Engineering Field Services

The Data Center Engineering team at Google is at the forefront of technology, pushing the physical design of data centers into the future. This role involves being part of a team that addresses complex problems in power usage and environmentally-friendly practices. You will optimize efficiencies, generate ideas, and communicate recommendations to senior-level executives while driving implementation alongside facilities technicians.

Location: Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (On-site)

Work Conditions: Full-time, ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays, and shift-based schedules as required.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair servers, networking, and storage devices, including replacing hard drives, RAM, CPUs, and motherboards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve critical technical issues affecting hardware equipment.
• Contribute to and lead projects in deploying, maintaining, and supporting data center servers and network infrastructure.
• Perform infrastructure upgrades and decommission outdated equipment as necessary.
• Comply with the site's environmental health and safety policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in Hardware, Networking, Operating Systems, Linux, or Project Planning.
• Experience with the assembly of mechanical or electrical systems and performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with hardware architecture, maintenance, and repair.
• Advanced Linux skills, including installation, systems administration, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of basic topology and protocol.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
