As a Data Center Technician (DCT), you will stage, set up, and perform hardware deployments while troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues. This role also involves decommissioning hardware for simple changes and refreshes following Standard Operating Procedures. This position offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of Data Center processes, develop mentoring skills by guiding your peers, and familiarize yourself with security and data management procedures, ultimately accelerating your career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, swiftly identifying the causes of issues and replacing faulty components to minimize disruption to customers and business operations.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks, ensuring that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up correctly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to the appropriate data center operations management units, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
  • Assist and provide guidance to other technicians in completing challenging or complex tasks.
  • Complete required training aligned with the role and workload; observe more experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience and relevant on-the-job training.
  • Contribute to a positive and effective team environment by sharing information, participating in regular team meetings, asking questions, and staying updated on the status of others' work.
  • Take pride in and demonstrate accountability for service quality, completeness, and the resulting user experience; display ownership of the data center facilities.
  • Embody the company culture and values.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with basic knowledge of computer hardware and components, and experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.

Background Check Requirements:

  • Ability to meet the company, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including those for Cloud Background Checks, which must be passed upon hire/transfer and biannually thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Relevant certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).

This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled.
