Position

As a Data Center Technician at the company, you will be responsible for delivering effective hands-on technical support and installations within the Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) data center. Your tasks will include:

  • Server hardware and network break-fix tasks
  • Structured cabling installation, rack deployments, and decommissioning activities
  • Site planning, problem escalation, and performing installations
  • Prioritizing ticketing queues, resolving incidents, and clearing blocking issues in compliance with internal policies and service level agreements
  • Providing 24x7 site coverage for OCI data center sites

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on experience in IT Infrastructure support, server and network maintenance, and structured cabling in large-scale mission-critical environments
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a virtual environment
  • Strong adherence to processes and procedures
  • Experience in providing direct customer support and service
  • On-call availability and ability to reach the data center site within 60 minutes
  • Capacity to work in cramped spaces and elevated locations

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Hands-on experience with server and network hardware installation, break-fix, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure and facility operations, including mechanical and electrical systems
  • Understanding of airflow management (hot aisle, cold aisle, containment)
  • Experience with commissionings, new whitespace, and data center expansion projects
  • Proficiency in Linux Operating Systems and command line tools

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a hardware support expert liaison to other technical and non-technical teams
  • Install, monitor, maintain, and optimize production server and network hardware
  • Conduct system board-level repairs and fault diagnosis
  • Participate in compliance audits and adhere to health and safety processes
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team and assist at customer locations as required
