Position

The company's Hardware Operations team is responsible for the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure that supports its powerful search technology. As a Data Center Technician II, you will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware such as servers and their components, as well as server software, including the company's Linux cluster. Additionally, you will configure more complex components, such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and networking protocols. You will take part in or lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans.

The role involves manual movement and installation of racks, requiring physical exertion over extended periods, including frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling, and lifting of equipment weighing up to 50lb (23kg). You should be able to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays, and on shift-based schedules as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with assembly of mechanical or electrical systems or performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Completion of the online IT Support Professional Certificate program.
  • 2 years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems and computer/server hardware or networking protocols.
  • Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment or in similar roles (e.g., Systems Administration, Network Deployment Engineer, Help Desk Technician).
  • Experience working in a data center or network operation center environment.
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with teams to overcome challenges and adapt to changes in a dynamic work environment.
