We are seeking a Data Center Technician to join our team in the United Arab Emirates (Remote). This is a full-time position that requires both technical expertise and strong communication skills to navigate between technical and non-technical teams.

Job Description:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in IT Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems).
  • Familiarity with data center M&E equipment is essential.
  • Proven track record of problem-solving in a mission-critical operations environment.
  • On-call responsibilities; a valid driving license is needed to reach the Data Center site within approximately 60 minutes, and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally in a virtual environment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in client-facing, direct customer support and service.
  • Ability to work productively in remote teams or independently.

Key Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of data center design, including electrical and cooling operations.
  • Knowledge of airflow management (hot aisle, cold aisle, containment, etc.).
  • Skills in rack, stacking equipment and commissioning new racks.
  • Proficiency in structured cabling (fiber & copper).
  • Systems administration experience with Linux and/or Windows Servers.
  • Hardware repair, diagnosis, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, basic troubleshooting).
  • Familiarity with IT hardware concepts (RAID, SAN, x86 architecture, etc.).
  • Knowledge of core operating system services (SSH, Telnet, RDP, FTP, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a support expert liaison between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Provide timely technical solutions for internal customer problems.
  • Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of all production server hardware.
  • Engage in system board level repair and fault diagnosis.
  • Plan and commission new rack positions and be involved with the design and commissioning of new spaces.
  • Install structured cabling as part of the position.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and apply appropriately.
  • Adhere to defined Health & Safety processes at all times.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team and perform additional on-premise work at customer locations as required.

Language Requirement:
Good command of English is required.
