Position

As a Data Center Technician (DCT), you will stage, set up, and perform hardware deployments. You will also perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on equipment, as well as decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes following Standard Operating Procedures. This role allows you to deepen your understanding of Data Center standard processes, develop mentoring skills, and familiarize yourself with security and data management procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifying the cause(s) of issues and replacing faulty components with minimal customer and business disruption.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks to verify that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate data center operations management units, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
  • Assist and provide guidance to other technicians in completing challenging or complex tasks.
  • Complete required training aligned to the role and workload; observe more experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience.
  • Contribute to a positive and effective team environment by sharing information, participating in regular team meetings, and staying apprised of the status of others' work.
  • Exhibit pride and accountability for service quality, completeness, and the resulting user experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with basic knowledge of computer hardware and components AND experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Ability to meet security screening requirements, including passing the Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
