Position

We are looking for a Data Center Technician with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems) and will demonstrate a thorough understanding of data center M&E equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as HW support expert liaison to both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Understand internal customer problems and provide timely technical solutions.
  • Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware.
  • Conduct system board level repairs and fault diagnosis to SLAs.
  • Plan and commission new rack positions and engage in the design and commissioning of new whitespaces.
  • Involvement in structured cabling installation, which is a significant aspect of this position.
  • Keep abreast of the latest technologies and apply them as appropriate.
  • Adhere to defined Health & Safety processes at all times.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team without friction. Additional on-premise work at customer locations may be required.

Location: Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: Full-time, on-call support required; must have a driving license to reach the Data Center site within approximately 60 minutes. May involve working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of data center design, including electrical and cooling operations and airflow management (hot aisle, cold aisle).
  • Strong skills in rack and stack equipment and commissioning of new racks.
  • Proficiency in structured cabling skills on fibre & copper (e.g., looming, termination, testing).
  • Systems administration experience with Linux and/or Windows Servers, along with hardware repair, diagnosis, and break/fix.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, basic troubleshooting) and IT hardware concepts (RAID, SAN, x86 architecture, SCSI, FC, ethernet, iLO).
  • Knowledge of base operating system installs and configuration, as well as core OS services such as SSH, Telnet, RDP, FTP, NFS, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Good command of English, with strong communication skills to interact professionally with diverse groups of customers and staff.
