As a Data Center Technician (DCT), you will stage, set up, and perform hardware deployments, while also conducting troubleshooting and diagnostics on equipment. Additionally, you will handle hardware decommissions for simple changes and refreshes according to Standard Operating Procedures. In the role of a CO+I DCT, you will play a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for products like Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the company Azure platform. Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifying causes of issues and replacing faulty components with minimal disruption to customers and business operations.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks, verifying grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling setups according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate data center operations management units, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
  • Assist and provide guidance to other technicians to complete challenging or complex tasks.
  • Complete required training linked to the role and workload; observe experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience and relevant on-the-job training.
  • Foster a positive and effective team environment by sharing information, contributing to regular meetings, asking questions, and staying updated on others' work statuses.
  • Take pride in the quality of service and user experience, displaying accountability and ownership for the data center facilities.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent along with basic knowledge of computer hardware and components AND experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Ability to work shifts, including assignments during non-standard business hours such as evening, nighttime, weekends, and/or holidays.

Background Check Requirements:
Candidates must meet company, customer, and/or government security screening requirements. This includes the necessity to pass the company Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+) or Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
