The Data Center Technician role in the United Arab Emirates involves providing hands-on technical support and installations within the company Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) data centers. Key responsibilities involve prioritizing ticketing queues, resolving incidents and escalations, and ensuring continuous service delivery in alignment with internal policies and service level agreements. Additionally, the technician will provide 24x7 site coverage for OCI data center facilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on experience in IT infrastructure support, server and network maintenance, and structured cabling in a large-scale mission-critical environment
  • Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in a virtual setting
  • Strong adherence to processes and procedures, acting as a Process Champion
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written) and the ability to professionally engage with a diverse customer and staff base
  • Experience delivering client-facing customer support and services
  • Ability to effectively work in remote cross-functional teams, independently, and resourcefully
  • Highly service-oriented, reliable, responsible, and self-motivated

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a hardware support expert liaison to technical and non-technical teams
  • Engage in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of production server and network hardware
  • Diagnose system board level faults and perform repairs within service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Conduct structured cabling installations as a critical function of this position
  • Plan and commission new rack spaces and installation positions
  • Handle rack receiving, installation, and decommissioning tasks
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance audits
  • Follow set health and safety protocols
  • Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and apply them as needed
