Position

The Data Center Technician position involves hands-on technical support and installations essential for maintaining the functionality of a Data Center located in Dubai, UAE. This role requires on-site presence and full-time dedication, including the necessity to be on-call and have a valid driving license to ensure arrival at the Data Center within 60 minutes. The technician must be comfortable working in cramped spaces or elevated locations and participate in 24x7 site coverage.

Key responsibilities include managing server hardware and network break-fix tasks, structured cabling installation, rack deployments, and decommissioning activities. The technician will also engage in site planning and handling problem escalation, while ensuring adherence to internal policies and service level agreements by prioritizing ticket queues and resolving incidents efficiently.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. They should have hands-on experience in IT infrastructure support, server and network maintenance, and structured cabling within mission-critical environments. A solid understanding of data center infrastructure and operations, along with strong communication skills to interact with diverse clients and teams, is crucial. Additionally, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team is important.

Required practical experience includes installation and troubleshooting of server and network hardware, as well as knowledge of data center infrastructure including mechanical and electrical operations. Familiarity with airflow management techniques and experience with large inventories and quality control are preferred. Candidates should also have a working knowledge of the Linux Operating System and command line tools, ensuring they can communicate effectively in a virtual environment.
