Position

The Data Center Technician is responsible for effective delivery of technical support and installations. This includes break-fix tasks involving hardware, network, cabling, and rack deployments, as well as site planning, problem escalation, and managing installations in the company Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) datacenter. Key responsibilities include prioritizing ticketing queues, resolving escalations, and clearing blocking issues to ensure the seamless operation of technician activities in accordance with internal policies and service level agreements. The role requires providing 24x7 site coverage for the company OCI datacenter sites.

Work Conditions:

  • On-call responsibilities with the ability to reach the Data Center site within approximately 60 minutes.
  • May require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in IT Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems).
  • Familiarity with data center M&E equipment and exemplary problem-solving capabilities in mission-critical operations environments.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers and staff.
  • Ability to work productively in remote cross-functional teams or independently.
  • Good command of English is required.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of data center design, electrical and cooling operations, and airflow management.
  • Experience with rack and stack equipment commissioning and structured cabling (fiber & copper).
  • Systems administration experience (Linux and/or Windows Servers) and hardware repair skills.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and IT hardware concepts.

Additional Skills:

  • Customer service orientation, good communication skills, and troubleshooting capabilities.
