As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and operate reliable data pipelines and data products from solution design through development, testing, deployment, and documentation. This role offers strong ownership and the opportunity to shape how data is produced, transformed, and served across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Design end-to-end technical solutions delivering data products aligned to business goals.
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and actionable delivery tasks.
  • Build and maintain robust ingestion pipelines for new data sources.
  • Write clean, performant, and secure Python for ETL/ELT, automation, APIs, and data validation.
  • Develop and orchestrate workflows using Google Cloud Platform services and related tooling.
  • Transform and prepare datasets for analytics and downstream consumption.
  • Improve data warehouse performance through model design and query optimisation.

Must-have Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience building and operating production data pipelines (or equivalent).
  • Advanced SQL skills and a strong understanding of analytics/dimensional modelling concepts.
  • Strong Python skills (ETL/ELT, APIs, data validation, packaging, scripting).
  • Hands-on experience with at least three of the following: BigQuery, Google Cloud Platform, Apache Airflow, ETL/ELT development, BI/DWH concepts.
  • Proven experience integrating data from a variety of source types and a comfort with collaborative development practices.

Nice-to-have Qualifications:

  • Experience with dbt and familiarity with data lineage/governance tooling.
  • Experience with monitoring/observability for pipelines.
