We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to assess, analyze, and work with complex data concepts and sources, providing business insights and supporting the integration of these data sources into the Presight platform.
Responsibilities:
- Develop high-performance data solutions and information products.
- Strong Python coding skills with a solid background in software development.
- Web crawling, data cleaning, annotation, ingestion, and processing.
- Create and maintain data pipelines, focusing on process improvement.
- Utilize Python, SQL, and Shell to build infrastructure for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Provide insights into key business performance metrics using analytical tools.
- Support business data needs on an ad-hoc basis.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) standards and relevant policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of programming experience with strong coding skills in SQL, Python, Shell, Java, and optionally Scala.
- Understanding of data warehouse architecture and ETL/ELT workflows.
- Proficient in batch data processing with tools like Apache Airflow and familiar with real-time processing workflows.
- Expertise in SQL, optimizing database performance, and using various relational and NoSQL databases.
- Proficient in Python for data engineering, with experience in big data frameworks such as Apache Spark.
- Knowledge of data modeling principles and tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Familiarity with data security best practices including encryption and access control.
