Responsibilities include:

  • Building a centralized data lake on GCP Data services by integrating diverse data sources throughout the enterprise.
  • Developing, maintaining, and optimizing SPARK-powered batch and streaming data processing pipelines, ensuring smooth integration with other platform components.
  • Designing and implementing data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
  • Collaborating with the Data Science and Machine Learning teams for advanced analytics.
  • Engaging with cross-functional teams, including data analysts and marketing teams, to extract insights from data.
  • Designing and maintaining data models for analytical use cases in collaboration with the product team.
  • Creating and maintaining data dashboards for various teams using Looker Studio.
  • Participating in technology exploration, research and development, and troubleshooting data issues.
  • Managing ETL/ELT processes to ensure data integrity, availability, and performance.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in PySpark (Batch and Streaming)
  • Experience with GCP services (Dataproc, Dataflow, DataStream, Dataplex, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage)
  • Knowledge of NoSQL (preferably MongoDB)
  • Programming skills in Scala/Python
  • Familiarity with Great Expectation or similar DQ frameworks
  • Experience with workflow management tools (Airflow, Prefect, or Luigi)
  • Understanding of Data Governance, Data Warehousing, and Data Modelling
  • Good SQL knowledge

Business Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to distill technical knowledge into clear, visual messages
  • Ability to proactively identify team development initiatives and support junior members

Good to Have Skills:

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (preferably Terraform)
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Looker
  • AI/ML engineering knowledge
  • Experience with data lineage or relevant tools (e.g., Atlan, DBT)
