The Data Engineer intern will take part in exciting projects that span the entire data lifecycle. Responsibilities include raw data integrations, advanced data modelling, and data visualization, as well as the development of innovative data products. Interns will learn to build and work with both batch and real-time data processing pipelines while collaborating with diverse teams across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate raw data with primary and third-party systems
- Model data warehouses for operational and application data layers
- Develop within the Amazon Redshift cluster
- Perform SQL development within an agile team
- Design and implement ETL processes in Matillion ETL
- Create data products to enable data-driven features or business solutions
- Ensure data quality, system stability, and security
- Adhere to coding standards in SQL and Python
- Create advanced visualizations in Periscope Data focusing on user experience and usability
- Collaborate with other departments on data product initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, or a related quantitative field
- Familiarity with relational and dimensional data models
- Understanding of terminal operations and Linux workflows
- Ability to communicate technical insights to a non-technical audience
- Proficient SQL skills with experience in cloud data warehousing solutions (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake)
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking
- Entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and self-motivated drive for continuous learning
