We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Azure, Databricks, Unity Catalog, advanced SQL, and intermediate proficiency in Python/PySpark. A deep understanding of the Medallion Architecture is essential, along with an interest in data analysis and familiarity with Power BI for driving actionable insights. Strong communication skills and experience in the fintech or banking industries are preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using Azure and Databricks.
  • Implement solutions based on the Medallion Architecture to organize and query data efficiently.
  • Manage and secure data assets using Databricks Unity Catalog.
  • Write, optimize, and debug advanced SQL queries for high performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain data transformation scripts using Python/PySpark.
  • Collaborate with analysts to understand data requirements and assist with Power BI integrations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance standards and maintain centralized, secure data management.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to meet service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Stay updated on modern data engineering technologies and contribute to the team's technical knowledge.

Your Profile:

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering or relevant roles.
  • Expertise in Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake).
  • Proficiency in Databricks, including Unity Catalog for data governance.
  • Strong skills in advanced SQL for complex query writing and optimization.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Python and/or PySpark for data transformations.
  • Solid understanding of the Medallion Architecture and its implementation.
  • Exposure to data analysis techniques and tools; Power BI experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry experience in fintech or banking.
  • Familiarity with security, compliance, and governance standards for financial data.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles for data engineering workflows.
