Data Engineer Lead

We are seeking a Data Engineer Lead to architect, build, and scale the next generation of our data platform. In this role, you will thrive in a high-impact environment, solving complex challenges and shaping the long-term data strategy for our rapidly growing business. Collaboration with engineering, product, analytics, and business teams will be essential to create modern data foundations that enable reliable insights and innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and scaling of a modern data platform on Azure and Databricks.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines and architectures for analytics and advanced data products.
• Define and enforce best practices for data modeling, governance, quality, and security.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Mentor and guide data engineers, maintaining strong engineering standards and code quality.
• Oversee platform performance and cost efficiency, identifying areas for improvement.
• Drive innovation by evaluating new tools and architectural approaches.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven experience designing and building a data platform from scratch in Azure and Databricks environments.
• Expertise in Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and Azure Data Factory.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL with hands-on experience in processing large-scale datasets.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, Medallion Architecture, and data governance practices.
• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A collaborative problem solver with strong communication skills.
