Accountabilities:
- Evaluate business needs and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition.
- Analyze and organize raw data.
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
- Interpret trends and patterns and build algorithms and prototypes.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and big data technologies.
- Develop analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
Education & Experience:
- 3-8 years of experience in a Data Engineer role.
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
- Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
- Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
- Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and datasets.
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases and query authoring (SQL), as well as familiarity with various databases.
- Proven experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to address specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
- Basic understanding of UNIX batch/shell scripting and Database SQL.
- Experience building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
