Data Engineer OCI

About the Job: Our client is a global data and AI consulting organization with a strong presence in the UAE since 2013. They support both private and public sector organizations in their data and AI-led transformation initiatives, providing services such as data strategy, AI solutions, big data platform implementation, data governance, and digital transformation.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) across various layers (bronze, silver, gold).
• Implement change data capture (CDC) and real-time ingestion using OCI GoldenGate and OCI Streaming with Kafka.
• Develop transformation workloads using Oracle Data Transforms and OCI Data Flow (Spark, Spark Streaming).
• Model and manage curated data in the Autonomous AI Lakehouse and OCI Object Storage, focusing on performance tuning and schema evolution.
• Write advanced SQL and PySpark for data cleansing, enrichment, and aggregation.
• Integrate source systems (ERP, CRM, IoT, APIs) through Oracle Integration and connector-based patterns.
• Implement data quality checks and monitor pipeline health.
• Orchestrate and schedule workloads, manage dependencies, and handle data backfills.
• Expose curated datasets through semantic models, Power BI, and support Data Science teams.
• Apply data governance and security controls, including IAM policies and encryption.
• Automate deployments using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Optimize storage, compute, and query workloads for cost-effectiveness.
