As a Data Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise and client management skills to conduct consulting, product implementation, and solutions development in both short and long-term engagements. You will serve as a critical point of contact among Denodo, partners, and client teams, ensuring successful project execution.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Maintain strong knowledge of the Denodo Platform and deliver comprehensive technical presentations showcasing its features and benefits.
- Continuously learn and stay updated on modern technologies.
- Address technical questions regarding customization, integration, enterprise architecture, and product functionality.
- Develop and lead custom deployments based on client requirements.
- Provide timely and detailed customer feedback to Product Management, Sales, Support, and Development about client needs and issues.
- Train clients in product architecture, configuration, and utilization of the Denodo Platform.
- Promote knowledge sharing and best practices while managing deliverables and client expectations.
- Build credibility at all levels within the client organization and foster problem-solving partnerships with clients, partners, and colleagues.
- Offer technical consulting, training, and support.
- Design white papers, presentations, training materials, or documentation on relevant topics.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role, preferably within the data management or analytics software industry.
- Solid understanding of SQL and familiarity with relational and analytical database management principles.
- Experience in Java software development, particularly in the web and database domains.
- Proficiency with JDBC, XML, and Web Services APIs.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with technical and business stakeholders.
- Active listening skills and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A relentless curiosity to learn and innovate.
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude.
Non-Mandatory Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with version control systems like GIT.
- Familiarity with Big Data and/or NoSQL environments such as Hadoop or MongoDB.
- Knowledge of caching technologies like JCS.
- Experience in server environments with Windows, Linux, and UNIX operating systems.
- Background in business software implementation and integration projects, including ETL/Data Warehouse architectures.
- Experience integrating packaged applications such as relational databases, SAP, Siebel, or Oracle Financials.
- Industry exposure in supporting mission-critical software components.
- Experience participating in customer meetings and producing technical documentation.
- Foreign language skills are a plus.
