Location: Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Responsibilities:
- Solve challenging problems utilizing Python coding skills.
- Design, build, and launch new data extraction, transformation, and loading processes in production.
- Engage in web crawling, data cleaning, data annotation, data ingestion, and data processing.
- Read and collate complex data sets and maintain data pipelines.
- Focus on process improvement to drive team efficiency and productivity.
- Build infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data using Python, SQL, Elastic Search, Shell, etc.
- Provide insights into key business performance metrics through analytical tools.
- Support the wider business with their data needs on an ad-hoc basis.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE policies, procedures, plans, and related risk assessments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences.
- 3+ years of programming experience with solid coding skills in Python, Shell, and Java.
- Experience in web crawling, cleaning, and solution architecture.
- Knowledge of data ingestion, query optimization, data segregation, ETL/ELT, AWS services (EC2, S3, SQS, Lambda), Elastic Search, and Redshift.
- Familiarity with data platform concepts including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time processing architecture for data.
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL and programming skills (preferably Java, Python).
- Understanding of structured and unstructured data, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of best practices in optimizing columnar and distributed data processing systems.
- Experience in designing and implementing dimensional modeling.
- Familiarity with machine learning and data mining techniques, particularly in areas of statistical modeling, text mining, and information retrieval.
