As a Data Governance Analyst, you will be responsible for owning governance across the organization, ensuring data is secure, high-quality, discoverable, and compliant. This role requires defining what is considered "secure" and "compliant," making independent access policy decisions, and rigorously testing for compliance. You'll leverage AI tools to scale governance efforts while maintaining human oversight for policy decisions and escalations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data Discovery: Build and maintain comprehensive data catalogs to ensure critical data assets are documented and easily searchable.
- Security & Access Control: Design and operate Role-Based Access Control frameworks, monitor access requests, and make governance decisions independently.
- Data Quality: Collaborate with domain leaders to establish reusable data quality frameworks and resolve underlying quality issues.
- Compliance & Maturity: Align governance practices with international frameworks and perform regular maturity assessments.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate across business, engineering, and data science teams to standardize critical definitions and ensure reporting consistency.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in data governance, data modeling, data quality, or compliance.
- Strong understanding of RBAC, access control models, data classification, and security best practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and data modeling, with the ability to critique semantic layers.
- AI-native, familiar with using tools such as Claude and semantic layer generators as part of daily workflows.
Language Requirements: Proficiency in multiple languages, especially in governance, data engineering, and business contexts.

You can effectively communicate across different domains, make decisions under ambiguity, and think in systems to enable business velocity. Experience in implementing governance standards and compliance processes is preferred, and adaptability to evolving standards is essential.
