The Data Governance team operates within the Commercial Systems unit, aiming to enable secure and well-governed access to extensive data sets that originate from various internal and external sources. The team utilizes renowned open-source data governance tools such as Trino and Ranger.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define, monitor, and execute data governance policies
- Design, implement, and maintain data labeling and quality metrics in the data catalog
- Deploy and manage services developed by the team
- Mentor and provide career development feedback depending on seniority
- Promote effective engineering and organizational practices
Work Conditions:
- This position is remote with flexibility for employees based in the EMEA region.
- Travel internationally up to twice a year for company events, lasting up to two weeks each.
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
- Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a strong narrative about an alternative chosen path
- Proven experience with data quality, governance, and security processes and tools
- Proficiency in software development using Python and SQL
- Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
- Strong results orientation and personal drive to meet commitments
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in performance engineering and security
- Familiarity with Airbyte, Ranger, Superset, Temporal, or Trino
Language Requirements:
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
