Key Responsibilities:
- Support metadata and catalog initiatives, including column-level tagging, dataset documentation, and ownership attribution.
- Contribute to data lineage and governance practices, enhancing audit readiness and visibility across pipelines and products.
- Maintain and assist with Airflow DAGs, performing operational fixes and automation tasks.
- Facilitate CI/CD workflows related to data pipelines, deployments, and platform tooling.
- Improve data pipeline reliability and consistency, collaborating with senior engineers on enhancements and fixes.
- Automate reports and dashboards to enable self-serve analytics for internal teams.
- Promote the adoption of data governance standards, processes, and tooling among teams.
- Assist internal stakeholders with ad-hoc data questions, process improvements, and platform-related enhancements.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in data governance, data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related technical role.
- Hands-on experience with data governance concepts, including metadata management, data lineage, data catalogs, and audit/compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with governance tools like Datahub in a multi-source, high-volume data system.
- Strong foundational knowledge of Python for automation and metadata ingestion.
- Solid SQL skills for data discovery, validation, and audit support.
- Basic understanding of end-to-end data pipelines to reason about lineage, dependencies, and data quality.
- Familiarity with Airflow or workflow orchestration.
- A curious, problem-solving mindset with a willingness to grow in a fast-paced data platform environment.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with dashboards or BI tools (e.g. Looker, QuickSight, Tableau).
Work Conditions:
- This position is remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United Arab Emirates.
