Data Governance Lead

As a Data Governance Lead, you will play a critical role in assessing and enhancing the Client's data management practices. Your responsibilities will include:

  Assess Current State: Conducting a thorough assessment of the Client's current data management practices encompassing data governance, quality, security, and privacy while identifying existing gaps and challenges.

• Develop NDMO Roadmap: Creating a comprehensive roadmap for implementing an effective National Data Management Office (NDMO) with clear objectives, timelines, and milestones for compliance.

• Policy & Procedure Development: Drafting and reviewing data governance policies, procedures, and standards aligned with NDMO guidelines and industry best practices.

• Data Inventory & Classification: Assisting in a comprehensive data inventory and classification exercise across all Client departments while guiding the development of a data catalog and metadata management framework.

• Data Quality Improvement: Defining metrics and implementing measures to improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency, coupled with developing data quality improvement plans.

• Data Security & Privacy: Enhancing data security measures to protect sensitive data and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations such as PDPL.

• Technology & Tools: Evaluating and recommending appropriate technologies and tools for data management, including data lakes and governance tools.

• Training & Awareness: Developing and delivering training programs to raise awareness of data governance principles and foster a data-driven culture.

• Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure the successful implementation of the NDMO program.

• Monitoring & Reporting: Monitoring progress toward compliance goals and continuously reviewing the NDMO roadmap to address evolving business needs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of data management principles, methodologies, and best practices (e.g., DAMA, NDMO).
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, including the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) guidelines and the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).
• Experience in conducting data assessments, developing governance frameworks, and implementing management solutions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
