Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a Data Governance Strategy.
- Manage Data Quality and establish a network of data stewards responsible for maintaining high-quality data and adhering to governance protocols.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance policies and industry standards (GDPR, DAMA, etc.).
- Collaborate with stakeholders and develop training programs to increase awareness of data governance principles.
- Prepare reports on data governance activities, including metrics on data quality and compliance, for senior management.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with data misuse, poor quality, or non-compliance with governance frameworks.
Technical Skillset:
- Experience with data governance platforms such as Collibra, Informatica, or Talend; proficiency in using data management tools like SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Understanding of tools and processes for data profiling, data cleansing, metadata management, and lineage tracking.
- Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.
- Familiarity with tools and frameworks that support data privacy and security measures.
- Understanding of data modeling, database structures (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), and cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, DAMA) is a plus.
- Experience: 10+ years in data management or governance, with at least 4 years in a managerial role.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in industries with complex data environments such as finance, healthcare, or telecommunications preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA) and their implications for data governance frameworks.
