We currently have an urgent opening for a Data Modeler position in Dubai, requiring 7+ years of experience.

Key Responsibilities of Data Modeler:

• Create, maintain, and optimize conceptual, logical, and physical data models, implementing operational data stores (ODS), data marts, and data lakes on target platforms (SQL/NoSQL) to ensure high data quality and reduce redundancy.
• Implement business and IT data requirements through new data strategies and designs across various data platforms (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL) using relevant tools for reporting, visualization, analytics, and machine learning.
• Define and govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models.
• Manage enhancements and expansions of existing data models while optimizing data query performance using best practices.
• Work closely with Data Domain Specialists and Data Product Owners to understand functional specifications and the business context surrounding data.
• Create structures/schemas for target data as per business requirements, leveraging business context & data product specifications.
• Perform data profiling as required to design future-proof data models for Data Products.
• Provide technical specifications to development teams (Data Engineering & BI) based on the final target schema for data.
• Generate DDL (Create Table) scripts using data modeling tools and collaborate with Technology Engineers to create and maintain necessary database objects.
• Proactively address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks.
• Collaborate with all involved teams to advance the operationalization of data strategy.

Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science & Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in relational, dimensional modeling, and/or analytics (using RDBMS, dimensional, NoSQL data platforms and ETL/data ingestion protocols).
• Preferred knowledge in various design patterns, such as Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, Data Mesh, and Data Fabric, along with full understanding of end-to-end data flow cycles.
• Expertise in data modeling principles/methods and ability to create optimal data models, including Star & Snowflake schemas and data vault methodologies.
• Hands-on expertise with data modeling tools such as SAP Power Designer, ERWin, and ER/Studio.
• Knowledge of industry reference data models like IBM BFMDW, Teradata FSLDM, and SAP FSDM.
• Familiarity with naming standards for schemas, data objects, and attributes, as well as ensuring no redundancy in data object design.
• Robust knowledge of data, systems, and querying tools like SAS/SQL.
• Preferred experience with HADOOP, Oracle, PostgreSQL & SAP HANA database technology platforms, and Data Governance tools such as Informatica AXON-EDC-DEQ.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships across functions and divisions.
