As a Data Modeler, you will be responsible for designing the enterprise data model and mapping multiple source systems into a canonical model (UDM/GIM) on an Informatica stack. Your primary duties will include:
- Implementing data quality measures such as source profiling, transformation rules, and handling granularity mismatches and derived/composite fields.
- Developing and optimizing ETL/data pipelines for seamless data movement across systems.
- Designing and managing databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Implementing data modeling and data architecture best practices.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data-driven initiatives.
- Utilizing Spark and Kafka for data processing and analytics.
- Ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and transformation of large-scale datasets.
Key Requirements:
- Strong SQL skills
- Strong foundation in Data Engineering, including medallion architecture and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCDs)
- Experience with any cloud platform (Azure, GCP, or AWS)
- Strong understanding of logical and physical data modeling (not just star schema)
- Good knowledge of industry modeling, including Party/Event/Location/Classification/Resource Item supertypes.
Technical Skills:
- Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, SQL Developer Data Modeler)
- Experience with ETL and data pipeline development
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and database management
- It's beneficial to have experience in canonical/industry reference models, such as IBM IIW-style supertypes.
