We are seeking a people-first Engineering Manager to lead our high-performing Data Engineering team within a fast-growing proptech organization. This role is less about hands-on coding and more about leveraging outcomes over output. You will act as the core engineering partner to our B2B Product and Commercial organizations, co-owning the roadmap for how data drives our enterprise offerings. Your team will build scalable data products that deliver actionable customer intelligence, optimize commercial performance, and provide deep behavioral insights.
In this position, you will guide the evolution of our foundational data platform, moving from traditional data pipelines to a proactive, AI-enabled intelligence engine. You will embed advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities into our core infrastructure to drive product monetization, enhance customer ROI, and foster long-term retention.
Tech Stack:
- Languages: Python, SQL
- Orchestration: Dagster (migrating from legacy Airflow)
- Compute & Storage: AWS Redshift, S3, Clickhouse, Athena
- Transformation: dbt (Core/Cloud), Fivetran
- Infrastructure: AWS (ECS/EKS, Glue, Lambda), Terraform with Terragrunt
- AI/GenAI: AWS Bedrock, AWS Agentcore, LangChain
Essential Experience:
- Management Experience: 5+ years leading Data Engineering teams with a proven record of delivering complex data products.
- Technical Background: 8+ years in Data Engineering or Software Engineering, with expertise in modern data stacks and orchestration tools.
- Methodology & Operations: Strong experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and managing SLAs and production incidents in high-stakes environments.
Desired Capabilities:
- Background in proptech, real estate, or two-sided marketplace platforms.
- Familiarity with ML infrastructure, data observability and quality frameworks, and cloud cost optimization strategies.
