Data Protection Officer

About the Job:

As the Data Protection Officer (DPO), you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization’s data protection strategy to ensure compliance with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and other applicable regulations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all data privacy and protection matters, ensuring that personal data is processed legally, securely, and ethically.

Work Conditions: Hybrid, Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data protection policies aligned with the PDPL.
• Monitor compliance with PDPL through reviews and audits.
• Oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and manage data subject requests and complaints.
• Establish a data breach response plan and lead investigations.
• Serve as the liaison with regulatory authorities and provide employee training on data protection.
• Advise senior management on data protection strategy and governance.
• Maintain records of processing activities in compliance with PDPL.
• Ensure compliance with data localization requirements and develop privacy notices.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of the PDPL and relevant data protection laws.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of data protection principles and risk management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT) preferred.
• Language Requirements: Fluency in both Arabic and English is highly desirable.
